The Chinggis/Gengghis Khan hotel is the most modern hotel in Ulaanbaatar but sadly it is not very central. Located to the North of the city it is a good 20 minutes walk to Sukhbaatar Square and even further to the entertainment district of Seoul Street. It is never the less well appointed, if rather kitsch. The rooms are identical to millions of other hotel rooms around the world. On the other side of the hotel you will find the Sky shopping centre which is one of the biggest supermarkets in Ulaanbaatar while inside of the hotel there will be such facilities as a Korean Air travel Desk, an Air Market travel desk, a depressing little cafe place, an ornate restaurant, a sparkly fountain water display and the small souvenir shops which are to be expected. The hotel is convenient for conferences and large groups as they have a lot of rooms. Service is neither good nor bad, just descent. The biggest drawback is indeed the location, crime, wind and pollution are high in winter while the roads are congested in summer.
