Day 1 

Arrival

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to hotel. Depending on your arrival time, overview of the city or diner and relax time.  Overnight in the hotel.  

Day 2

City tour

After breakfast  take a city tour including a visit to the dinosaur exhibitions hall at the Natural History Museum and Bogd Khan Palace, a series of beautiful traditional buildings where the last religious King of Mongolia resided. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day3

Amarbayasgalant monastery

This monastery, one of Mongolia’s architectural wonders and one of the three main centers of Buddhism in the country is located 5-6 hours drive from Ulaanbaatar. It is set in some beautiful surroundings near the mighty Iiven river, at the foot of Mount Buren-Khaan. Overnight in tourist camp.  (B+L+D) 

Day4

Nomadic family

Today is a chance to know real nomadic people’s lifestyle and traditional culture and horse riding. Overnight in nomadic family.   (B+L+D) 

Day 5

Uran togoo

Today will be the occasion for you to explore the area and chill out. In the afternoon you will have opportunity to climb Mountain Uran Uul to have look a crater.  This extinct volcano lies near the road, and stretches from Bulgan town to Moron. On the top of the volcano is a crater, 500 to 600 meters wide and 50 meters deep, filled with a small crater lake. Overnight in nomad family (B+L+D) 

Day 6

Khatgal-Lake Khuvsgul

 

Khatgal, once a bust transport hub for trucks travelling between there and Russia, lies at the mouth of the River Eg, set slightly back from the southern shores of Lake Khuvsgul. It is now the tourism for this area which attract more than anywhere else in Mongolia. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) 

Day 7

Lake Khuvsgul

 

Lake Khuvsgul, is over 260m deep and 136m long. It’s Mongolia’s second largest lake and contains nearly 2% of the world’s fresh water. Great for fishing, the lake is teeming with fish such as lenok and sturgeon. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) 

Day 8

Jargalant sum

 

Departure early in the morning from the lake to Jargalant sum, near Arkhangai province, where you will sleep in a ger camp. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) 

Day9

Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake

 

Terkhiin Tsagaan lake is one of the best places in Mongolia for hiking . After lunch drive to  Terkhiin Tsagaan lake, trekking and chill out. Your guide will tell you about the myth of the lake. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) 

 

Day10

Khorgo Uul, Chuluut River, Sacred tree and Taikhar rock

 

Khorgo Uul is a dead volcano, which lies on the east of the Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur in Arkhangai aimag. The Mountain of Khorgo covered with basalt.

Taikhar rock is famous for sacred site. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) 

Day11

Tsenkher Hot Spa

Tsenkher Hot Spa is famous for its medicinal waters. It lies in a green area propitious to wanders.  You’ll head off to Tsenkher Hot Spa, where you’ll spend the day relaxing and enjoying a big pause in your long trip. Overnight in Tsenkher Jigvvr camp. (B+L+D)

Day12

Tuvhun Monastery

 

We continue our journey to Tuvkhun Monastery. In the afternoon we make a 2 km trek to Tuvkhun monastery, called Nord Utai, located on a mountain 2,400m above sea level. Here we enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the scenery and visit the caves located around the monastery. Stay overnight tourist camp. (B+L+D

Day13

Orkhon Waterfall

 

Drive to Waterfall was formed by a unique combination of volcanic eruptions and earthquakes about 20 thousand years ago. After lunch explore the area and chill out. Stay overnight tourist camp. (B+L+D)

 

Day14

Drive to Kharkhorum-The ancient City and Erdene Zuu Monastery


We will drive to Kharkhorum to visit Erdene Zuu monastery.Situated on the banks of the Orkhon river, the site of the imperial capital Karakhorum was chosen by Chingis Khaan in 1220.The capital city of the largest land empire the world has ever known. Today almost nothing remains of the once-great city. The nearby Erdene Zuu monastery was the first Buddhist monastery built in Mongolia, constructed using stones and bricks from ruins of the ancient city in 1586.

Day15

Ongiin khiid

 

Today you will head off to the Gobi desert, a long drive full across the friendly Ovorkhangai and the rugged Dundgovi provinces. You will have dinner in Ongiin monastery and explore the area. Stay overnight tourist camp. (B+L+D)

 

Day16

Flaming Cliffs

Bayanzag was given the name ‘Flaming Cliffs’ by paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews who was first to discover dinosaur eggs in this area in the early 1920’s.  The area is now renowned worldwide for the multitude of dinosaur finds, many of which are on display at the Museum of Natural History in Ulaanbaatar. 

We drive north today to Bayanzag, otherwise known as the ‘Flaming Cliffs’.  There is time to look around - perhaps even you can find a dinosaur by yourself! Overnight Bayanzag ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day17

Khongor Sand Dunes

One of the biggest dunes in the Gobi, Khongorin Els, also known as the ‘singing dunes’, are about 100km long and in some places reach a height of 300m – providing a great view over the desert, but requiring a lot of hard work to get to the top!

In the morning you’ll drive to the famous Khongorin Els sand dunes. Perhaps you will visit a nomadic family this morning, try your hand at milking a camel, or drinking camel ‘airag’. You will ride a camel along the dunes, or take the tough walk up the dunes to catch fantastic views of the desert. Overnight stay in tourist camp. (B+L+D)

Day18

Yolyn Am

Yolyn Am is a dramatic canyon - its valley layered with ice for much of the year - which can be up to 10m thick in winter!  The high cliffs provide a haven for wildlife in the area, such as ibex and argali sheep.

An early start this morning for our drive south to the desert canyon of Yolyn Am, named after the huge birds that live there.  You might be lucky enough to spot some ibex or argali sheep picking their way over the rocks above you as you walk through the valley. Overnight in ger  camp.(B+L+D)

Day19

Tsagaan Suvarga

Our next stop in the Middle Gobi Province will be an area of limestone rocks called White Stupa, about 30 meters tall and 100 meters long and shaped strangely as a result of a wind and water erosion for thousands of years. From a distance, it can be mistaken for the ruins of an ancient city. It down, it offers a magnificent view with rainbow colors. We will visit a cave called “horizontal and vertical” for its strange shape and formation.  Overnight stay in tourist ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day20

Baga Gazriin Chuluu

This granite rock formation is of high historical and spiritual importance. You’ll be stunned by the harsh beauty of the dry steppes surrounding the area, and you’ll probably want to enjoy he natural highlights in the area, such as Baga Gazrin Uul and its cave with an underground lake. 

Departure in the morning to Baga Gazrin Chuluu. You’ll cross the vast steppes of central Mongolia and probably see hundreds of gazelles, vultures, and camels.  Once on site you’ll enjoy a relaxing time in a ger camp and the surroundings at your own convenience. Stay overnight tourist camp.  (B+L+D)

Day21

Ulaanbaatar


Travel to Ulaanbaatar. In the afternoon shopping for souvenirs and cashmere is optional.  Overnight in hotel.
