The Tsam Dance is a theatric Buddhist ceremony performed to influence fate. It has been performed in Mongolia for around two hundred years, being partly derived from a similar ceremony in Tibet, where many Mongolian Buddhist traditions were brought from. Our guests are often able to witness one of these fascinating events.
A special religious ceremony for the ten Dharma Protectors, especially for the deities of the Tsam Dance, will be held at the Dashchoilon Monastery. During the religious ceremony at the monastery, the main events, the Tsam dance will be performed. In this religious dance there are many kinds of characters, such as Damdinchijoo, The King, Shridevi, the femaile protector of religion, Gongor and Namsrai, deities of wealth, and several more. In the evening there will be a special religious event called Sor Zalakh which involves throwing and burning blessed barley. This event is aimed at protecting the Dharma and removing all obstacles of the religion.
